Setting Up a Control4 Project in OvrC from Creation to Activation

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Link Your Accounts
To set up a Control4 project in OvrC, follow these steps:

  1. Link Control4 and OvrC Accounts:
  • In OvrC, click ACCOUNT (admin privileges required).
  • Under Users, click Link Control4 Partner Account.
  • Enter your My.Control4 Partner Account credentials and click Link Control4 Account.
2. Create a Customer Location
Add a Customer:
  • In the Customers section, click ADD CUSTOMER.
  • Enter customer information (names, project type, location, address, and time zone).
  • Agree to terms of use and privacy policy, then click SAVE.
Add Devices:
  • Go to the DEVICES tab and click ADD DEVICE.
  • Enter the MAC address, Service Tag, and Device Name, then click ADD DEVICE.
3. Register the Controller
Register the Controller:
  • From the location DASHBOARD, click the CATEGORIES tab.
  • In Control & Automation, click START NEW PROJECT and then Control4 Project.
  • Select the primary controller and click SET UP AND REGISTER.
4. Build and Test the Project
Use Composer Pro:
  • Build the project by adding rooms, drivers, agents, and programming.
  • Access temporary credentials in OvrC to log into the Control4 app.
  • Test and customize the project using the Control4 app.
5. Hand Off the Project to the Customer
Customer Handoff:
  • In OvrC, select the customer and click START CUSTOMER HANDOFF.
  • Enter the customer’s email, select Control4, and choose plans.
  • Send the invitation, which expires after three days if not accepted.
Customer Activation:
  • Customers install the Control4 app and activate their account using an invitation code.
  • They select and compare plans, enter payment information, and complete registration.
  • Customers can start using their system immediately or access the Knowledge Hub for tutorials.
  • Following these steps ensures a smooth setup and handoff process for Control4 projects in OvrC.
